ErasmusLadder®
ErasmusLadder is a complete system for the assessment of motor performance and motor learning in mice.

Why use it?

  • A fast, sensitive, and reliable method
  • Assesses motor performance and motor learning in mice
  • Specifically designed to test cerebellar functioning
  • Non-invasive, automated, and easy to use
  • A complete system: software and hardware

ErasmusLadder

How does it work?

The apparatus consists of a horizontal ladder between two goal boxes. The mouse traverses this ladder while the touch sensitive rungs allows the system to measure step time and length, missteps, back steps, and jumps, while cerebellar functioning is tested in a challenge that involves a barrier raising during the run.

Who uses it?

ErasmusLadder is a system to study motor performance and motor learning and it is especially interesting for researchers that study the cerebellum, cerebellar disorders, and ataxia (e.g. Parkinson’s models). In addition is has been proven useful in mouse models of autism.
