The Position
Noldus is looking for a full time Technical Engineer to join our growing North American office.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Designs and defines audio/video observation systems for University, corporate, and government research facilities.
- Performs high-level systems development and design work that include logical and physical design concepts for simple systems within a single facility or across multiple rooms with multiple facilities that may include but are not limited to: observation room, central control rooms, etc.
- Has a strong understanding of electronic wiring and cabling
- Develops documentation on new or existing systems and is skilled at reviewing construction drawings for IT/AV facilities and associated management and controls systems/centers.
- Responsible for defining System Requirements (Needs Analysis), creating Bills of Material (BOM), designing conceptual drawings and labor estimates for customer projects.
- Develops and conducts tests to ensure systems meet documented user requirements
- Identifies, analyzes, and resolves system problems.
- Provides system integration, equipment onsite installation and specialized training and technical guidance.
- Determines system specifications, input/output processes, and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility.
- Provides guidance and work leadership to less-experienced sales account managers and systems engineers and may have supervisory responsibility.
- May serve as a technical team or task lead.
- Serves as liaison with clients and sales account managers in meetings to ensure client needs are met.
- May utilize skills & experience to assist in the analysis of current programs as well as related future business opportunities.
- Establish a professional working relationship with other departments (eg: sales, marketing, service) and foster team spirit with the group as a whole.
- 25 to 50% travel required
Your profile
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work/military experience.
- 5-10 years of related systems engineering experience in the following categories:
(a) Experience designing and deploying video audio system
(c) Experience in gathering requirements, implementing new technologies and designs.
(d) Demonstrated written and oral communication skills, including experience in presenting material. - Experience in Microsoft Dynamics Navision a plus
- Ability to multi-task
