The Observer XT makes teamwork easy. From any location, your colleagues can send in their data by e-mail and you can add them to your project. This also allows you to monitor the activities of students and field researchers working in remote locations.

Reliable results
Individual observers may differ in their judgment, and any observer’s judgment may change over time. The Observer XT’s quality control helps you to avoid bias and provides you with sophisticated reliability analysis. Behavioral recordings are compared event by event and differences are reported. The Observer XT also gives you overall statistics like Cohen’s Kappa and a confusion matrix to find structural judgment differences. You can even visually compare time event plots, with the video as reference.

The ease of labeling
One of the features of The Observer XT is the use of independent variables. With The Observer XT, you can label each observation with characteristics such as patient ID, observer name, date and time, status, and rating. Additional information such as diagnosis or treatment can be added at a later stage. All these labels are kept in a database together with the observational data. Use them any way you like: to check if your data is complete, to filter data during analysis, to make comparison groups, or as covariates in statistical analyses along with your behavioral statistics. The Observer XT Coder Licenses
The Observer XT Coder Licenses allow more than one person to work together on a research project. Coder Licenses limit the use of The Observer XT to coding and visualization only. If the coding work is more than one person can manage, this work can easily be divided amongst colleagues and students. The big advantage of these licenses is the low pricing. They are meant to be used in a context where one study supervisor builds a project and the coding work is done by others. The Observer XT Coder Licenses are thus always used in combination with at least one complete license of The Observer XT. This license is needed to do the project set-up, extensive analysis, and to combine the datasets. The Coder License video version can only be used in combination with a full license with video module.
