E-Track developed GPS animal tracking and analysis tools for sophisticated behavioral research on wild and domestic animals. The project made use of the European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service (EGNOS) that provides higher accuracy locations than in conventional GPS animal tracking. E-Track tags used EGNOS for enhanced accuracy, combined with fast sampling, sensors, and a wide range of tag formats, sizes, and remote communication systems. The software developed in E-Track offers powerful analyses of animal behavior using data with high spatial and temporal resolution, with innovative visualisation methods and an easy-to-use interface. E-Track hardware and software can be integrated in a modular, end-to-end system. The consortium succesfully tested and demonstrated the E-Track system in field studies with mammals and large birds.

Noldus serves as the project coordinator. Furthermore, Noldus will develop, improve, and supply software for aggregation, visualization, and analysis of EGNOS position data and animal movement tracks, and coordinate the system integration activities. Furthermore, Noldus will be responsible for commercial feasibility studies, market research, development of a business plan and commercialization of the E-Track software.
