Wageningen, 10 February 2002 - The latest update of The Observer 4.0 is now available (build number 4.0.102). This update is intended for all users who have The Observer Basic 4.0 as well as The Observer Video-Pro 4.0. Please note: this is not an upgrade of the Support Package for Video Analysis, version 4.0.

The main improvements in this release are:

• The Observer 4.0 is now also compatible with Windows XP.
• You can now change the directory where workspaces and projects are stored.
• For users of Windows 2000/NT: the previous release only allowed access is you were logged in as "power user" or "administrator". This limitation has been removed.
• The Observer Video-Pro 4.0 now also supports a new VCR: the JVC SR-S365U.
• Furthermore, we have implemented several technical improvements that further increase the stability of the software.

Finally a new Quick Start Guide is now available. Together with the Reference Manual and Installation Guide, this makes a complete set of documentation for The Observer 4.0.

Besides these changes, a number of bugs in the software have been fixed.
