With the wireless Mobile Device Camera you can evaluate the usability of mobile devices without restrictions of a cable. This portable instrument permits close-up filming of user-system interaction while the user is walking around freely. It allows you to test mobile hardware and software interfaces in a greater variety of settings and environmental conditions than possible with stationary cameras or camcorders. Whereas a fixed camera may allow you to view the mobile device in close-up, it confines the observation to an artifical lab setting. A camcorder allows you to observe a user performing a task in a natural setting, but does not permit a close-up view of the device and user interface. The Mobile Device Camera solves these problems by combining maximum portability with a close-up video image.

The wireless Mobile Device Camera can be used with any mobile device, like cell phones and PDAs. When testing mobile software applications, the researcher can choose to zoom in on the device’s display or capture user navigation on the keypad as well. The video signal is transmitted to a receiver up to 25 m away and can be displayed on a video or computer monitor, recorded on tape or streamed to a hard drive.
