The UltraVox system provides a complete soluton for automatic monitoring of ultrasonic vocalizations, in which it is, among other things, possible to easily export the resulting data or the descriptive statistics to other software packages such as The Observer or Excel. Both the filtered on and off events and the statistics to files suitable for import into all major spreadsheets and statistics packages can be converted. In addition, you can export filtered on and off events to The Observer, for instance to integrate the vocalizations with other behavior.
When you have more than one file to export the option Batch Export under the File menu can be very useful. There are two options for batch export available, export of data and export of the statistics which have been calculated during the acquisition. Please note that all statistics will be exported even if not every option has been displayed in the Application window during the acquisition.
Export of Data
Select File - Batch Export - Data if you want to export multiple files at once. Define the Export Data Specifications in the Export Data dialog box and select the files that need to be exported in the Select Data Files dialog box. To select multiple files, press down the Control key and click all files you want to export. When all files are selected, click Select. Each file will be exported to a separate export file, and will be named exactly the same as the original file, and is sorted in the same folder as the original file. You can only tell the difference by its extension: the original file has the extension .UVX, and the export file is either extended with .TXT or .ODF
Export of Statistics
Select File - Batch Export - Statistics if you want to export the statistics which have been calculated during the acquisition. Define the Export Statistics Specifications in the Export Statistics dialog box, then select the files that need to be exported in the Select Data Files dialog box. To select multiple files, press down the Control key and click all files you want to export. When all files are selected, click Select. This invokes the Save Statistics As dialog box. Since all statistics will be exported to a single export file, you must enter a new name for that file. When clicking Save, one export file will be created with the extension .TXT and it will be stored in the default Data directory.
