World Usability Day 2006
Wageningen - On Tuesday 14 November, the second annual World Usability Day was celebrated with a series of events worldwide. As a sponsor of World Usability Day 2006, Noldus Information Technology celebrated along!
The Noldus headquarters formed the scene for the annual meeting of CHI Nederland, formerly known as SIGCHI.NL. Around 25 participants turned up for a series of exciting demonstrations of tools for usability testing and HCI research that Noldus had organized prior to this meeting. Visitors could enjoy a live usability test in our new Experience Lab. The test showed a test person playing computer games, whilst being attached to a heartbeat meter. FaceReader technology, for recognizing facial expressions and emotions, was demonstrated in our showroom.
TUMCAT TUMCAT, the Freeband Testbed for User experience for Mobile Context-Aware applicaTions, is a research project in which TNO, TU-Delft, KPN, SPING, and Noldus Information Technology aim to create a state-of-the-art test environment to measure the user experience outside the traditional lab environment. The test environment will enable Freeband projects, and other national and international research projects, to design and evaluate new applications for mobile users, by measuring the experiences of users being in their own living or working environment.
Between the events the participants enjoyed a tasty cold meal in the grand café of the Noldus building. After the annual meeting of CHI Nederland, it was time to gather for a few drinks in the grand café. Also a good moment to evaluate another successful World Usability Day at Noldus!
