Chapel Hill, NC, USA - On Thursday 16 November, Noldus Information Technology organized a User Meeting in Chapel Hill, NC, USA. Users of Noldus products, as well as those who are considering acquiring our software, were invited to join us for a program of lectures, presentations and software demonstrations. The purpose of this meeting was to give people the opportunity to network with other users and to learn about the latest developments (The Observer XT, tips and tricks, coding and analysis topics, etc). The 2nd Southeastern Observer user meeting was hosted by the School of Nursing at UNC Chapel Hill and was attended by 30 users and people interested in The Observer.
The day started with a presentation by Wilant van Giessen about the latest developments in general and The Observer XT in particular. After a nice lunch two Observer users gave a 30-min presentation. Dr. Bernie Hansen (North Carolina State University, College of Veterinary Science) told us about his research on pain assessment in dogs. He actually used both The Observer and EthoVision to quantify dog behavior after surgery
