Noldus Information Technology wins Innovation Award
Leesburg, 25 May 2007 – Noldus Information Technology Inc. has been awarded the prestigious Innovation Award at the 6th Annual Leesburg Business Appreciation Award Ceremony hosted by the Mayor, Town Council & Economic Development Commission of Leesburg, Virginia. The Innovation Award "Celebrates a business that has brought recognition to Leesburg through creative marketing efforts, innovative business ventures, and/or unique product development".
The following is an excerpt from the speech given by Betsy Fields, Economic Development and Tourism Director for the Town of Leesburg: “This year’s Innovation Award winner is based in The Netherlands. Founded by Dr. Lucas Noldus, a behavioral biologist, Noldus Information Technology develops, markets, and supports innovative software, instruments, and services for behavioral research. Whether a researcher is collecting data on animal behavior, human reaction to a product or human interaction with a system, Noldus Information Technology’s products and services can help automate that research. Better yet, Noldus products help researchers enhance the quality of their data and increase productivity. Current customers use the tools to search for new drugs to cure diseases, to support medical diagnosis and therapy, to improve educational systems, to enhance animal welfare, to develop environmentally sound pest control solutions, to create safer work environments and list goes on and on. Noldus Information Technology recently relocated their offices to the Rehau Palladium building on Edwards Ferry Road. In their new location, the company will offer on-site training for all of their products as well as a state-of-the-art Behavior Observation Center for researchers conducting psychology, usability and human factors related studies.”
According to Dr. Noldus, Leesburg offers the perfect location: “Less than an hour from the nation’s capital in one direction, less than an hour from Blue Ridge Mountains in the other, and a community that offers a great quality of life and facilities, such as the NIH campus, many federal agencies and their labs, Dulles International Airport, and the Dulles high-tech corridor.”
