Build your own plug-ins for The Observer XT! | |
Wageningen, 16 August, 2007 - Software developers can build their own plug-in components for The Observer XT with a Software Development Kit (SDK). The SDK is available free of charge from Noldus Support for customers who use version 7.0 with the Video Module. It contains documentation, code examples, and working plug-ins. Plug-in components can be used along with video recording and playback. The Observer XT sends video control commands and synchronization information to the plug-in. Among the possible applications are synchronized playing of simulations, visualizations of third party data, and trial automation while recording. Erik Meyer, leader of the software development team: "This fits the trend of our products becoming increasingly open. Creative users get endless new possibilities". The animated skeleton follows the moves of a train operator. The operator wears an inertial 3D movement sensor (Xsens Technologies), the data of which are the basis of the animation. The 3D skeleton viewer (Lumo MotionVIZ by Re-lion) plays within The Observer XT 7.0, controlled via the plug-in interface. The sensor data are also shown as a graph. The behavior of the operator was coded manually; the events are listed chronologically in the Event Log. All data play in sync, with user-controlled playback speed, direction, and position. |
