The Observer
The Observer is a professional and complete manual event recording system for the collection, analysis, presentation, and management of observational data. It is the ultimate tool for the study of behavioral processes when a level of detail is required that cannot be obtained with an automated system. You can use it to record activities, postures, movements, positions, social interactions, or any other aspect of the behavioral repertoire.  

Mazes and open fields

Mazes and open fields, available in different sizes that make them suitable for all kinds of rodents, are suited for most commmonly used behavioral tests. Our infrared-translucent mazes and open fields will enable automatic tracking in many situations in which tracking used to be very difficult or even impossible.

PhenoTyper represents a video-based observation environment in which rodent behavior can be automatically monitored. PhenoTyper can be configured in a number of ways according to the behavioral test you want to conduct. Examples include:

Theme
Animal behavior is clearly organized in time, yet these patterns are hard to capture in statistics. Theme can detect patterns in raw behavioral data from EthoVision 3.1, based on a specially designed statistical procedure. You can use Theme for exploring time structures. Subtle though significant differences between groups or treatments clearly show in Theme’s pattern statistics. Interaction studies in particular benefit from using Theme.

Event Logging Interface

If you are using EthoVision 3.1, you may wish to automatically record more information than you currently can. With the Event Logging Interface, you can replace yourself as the coder.

Tower Filming System

The tower filming system provides a robust, reliable view of large numbers of small animals such as five-day old zebrafish larvae and Drosophila in chambers. When used in conjunction with EthoVision, up to one hundred animals can be tracked in their own arenas with no additional set-up time when a new batch of animals is introduced.

Infrared LED Array

Animals which are only nocturnally active or which live in dens provide a specific problem for the behavioral observer; namely providing adequate lighting for filming at the lab without influencing animals' behavior. This problem can be solved with the Infrared LED Array.
