The Observer XT product training course

Introduction
This course will help you to get started using The Observer XT for your research or tests. We train you how to:

• Create a configuration for your project
• Observe behavior with The Observer XT
• Analyze your data
• Create output with The Observer XT

Target audience
Whether you just purchased The Observer XT, are an experienced user wanting to refresh your skills, or just upgraded to the latest release of the software, our product training course will help you get the most out of your Noldus system. For experienced users of our software we offer a range of other training courses.

Program
Duration of this course is 1 day. The overall training will consist of two parts; general background and theory in the morning, and a hands-on session in the afternoon. Our experienced trainer will assist you at every stage of the training process, from the set-up of your experiment, to the integration of different data sources. There will be plenty of opportunity for questions during the entire session, and you are more than welcome to bring your own video material to work on.

• Create a configuration for your own work - During this part you learn how to create the right configuration for your research or tests. This is an essential step in using The Observer XT: creating the right configuration will enable you to create the right output and analysis after you have done the observation. 
• Observe behavior with The Observer XT - The observation module has a lot of functions. Knowing how to use these can help to perform your observations in a more efficient way.
• Analyze your observational data  - How you want to select, group and analyze the data you collected during the observation, influences the structure of your configurations. Therefore it is important to think about analysis before you start collecting data. During this part of the training we show you the ins and outs of data selection and analysis.
• Create output with The Observer XT - What can you do with your collected data and analysis reports? During this part we show you how to create reports and video highlight clips. We also teach you how you can export data for use in other software packages such as SPSS or Excel. Finally, you learn how you can use data from The Observer XT in your reports and presentations.

The training course includes extensive practical exercises. During the practical exercises we use realistic examples, as much as possible coming from your own research area. If you have special requirements regarding the contents of the training, please contact us in advance.
