Research evolves and so do the research needs. That is why we continuously develop new features and add-ons for the DanioVision Observation Chamber. On this page we list a few recent examples of custom solutions. If you are interested in a custom solution, either one on this page or something specific for you lab, please contact us.
Grid for light/dark testing in zebrafish larvae
A light/dark preference test is commonly used to investigate anxiety behavior in zebrafish. The light-dark grid creates a dark and a light half in each well of a 96-well plate in the DanioVision Observation chamber, so that you can perform this test in zebrafish larvae in a high-throughput manner. The light-dark grid is also available for 6-, 12-, 24-, and 48-well plates.
The grid is placed underneath the well plate and partially blocks the white light from the backlight unit. This way, each well – or arena – is divided into a light and dark area. The grid is IR light translucent, leaving the tracking of the zebrafish is unaffected. Turning the visible white light on and off does not affect the camera image either.
