I get an error message "You do not have a valid hardware key inserted" when using a trial version

This can be caused if you have started the trial with a hardware license key for another version of the product inserted in your computer. You can solve it as follows:

  1. Make sure that you can see hidden files
    • Open Windows Explorer (Windows button + E)
    • Click the Organize button
    • Select Folder and Search Options
    • Select the View tab
    • Select View hidden files, folders or drives
    • Click OK
    • Browse to C:\ProgramData\Noldus\[product name]\[version number]
    • Delete the file tstatus.dat
