TrackLab is the best software for the recognition and analysis of spatial behavior. It allows you to work with any number of subjects, and in a range of indoor and outdoor spatial contexts.
For the monitoring of indoor farm animals, TrackLab locates animals through triangulation; animals carry tags that communicate with wall-mounted sensors. Animal location is acquired with an accuracy of 20 to 30 centimeters.
Automatic monitoring of health and welfare
TrackLab offers an end-to-end solution for real-time behavior analysis based on highly accurate Ultra-Wideband (UWB) indoor tracking technology. This means that you can automatically monitor animal welfare, health, and productivity, which is beneficial for a number of reasons:

TrackLab is a turn-key solution for indoor tracking, and includes on-site installation, system calibration, and training.
The location of each individual is acquired by UWB tracking tags and sensors. All data is transferred in real-time to the server for processing. Using the TrackLab software, behavior insights can be monitored in the comfort of your office.
Robust Ultra-Wideband tags
The UWB tags are compact and light (54x40x14 mm, 26 grams). They have been designed to survive challenging conditions, such as cattle barns with heavy animals, steel feeding racks, dust, dirt, acid, and moisture. The tag sample rate can be adjusted between 0.1 and 10 Hertz, to capture the body movement characteristics of different animal types.
The battery can last for several years, depending on factors like sample frequency and animal activity. There is a range of solutions available to assemble and attach tags to the animals, such as collar-based tags and ear-tags.
Accurate and reliable indoor tracking
Indoor location data is collected with a Real Time Location System (RTLS). In combination with the UWB tags, this gives you highly accurate and reliable tracking, even in challenging environments. The tags transmit short UWB pulses, which are received by the sensors and used to determine where the tag is located using a Time-Difference-of-Arrival (TDoA) technique.
The radio waves are low energy and do not cause interferences with other barn equipment. You can also combine sensors in order to cover large indoor environments. The tracking sensors can be used in semi-covered or open barns, and outdoors as well. For tracking in large outdoor feedlots or pastures, we recommend our gps-based tracking solution.
TrackLab and biocontainment facilities
TrackLab tracking sensors and UWB tags are fully compatible with biocontainment facilities (up to BSL-4).
Tags are compatible with various biosafety sterilization methods, such as Ethylene Oxide Sterilization (EtO), formaldehyde (LTSF), low temperature Hydrogen Peroxide Plasma (H2O2), Ozone (O3), and autoclaving (under restricted conditions).
All sensors and tags stay in the biocontainment lab at all times. With just an ethernet cable, the equipment is connected to the TrackLab PC located outside the biocontainment area. Animal health indicators are monitored using the TrackLab software on that PC.
