Emotion measurement in video calling

EMOTICALL

During the pandemic, many people have been making video calls instead of having face-to-face meetings. Although it is better than audio-only, there is still a lot of body language lost in transmission. This might be a issue for business meetings, but for medical services and other critical situations, there is a potentially much bigger problem. In this project the partners will investigate whether smart technology can be used to provide information about what emotions the speakers have, in order to ameliorate the situation.

The role of Noldus

In this project we will try out an integration between Noldus' FaceReader (which measures emotions in facial expressions) and Vokaturi's emotion recognition in speech software. This will be done in the context of video calls made to the Dutch mental health care service.
