Phenotyping pest resistance with EthoVision
There is an increasing demand to reduce damage to crops without resorting to insecticides. Breeding resistant plant varieties is a good approach, but screening plants for a resistant phenotype is time-consuming. In this project, the partners will further develop EthoVision based video tracking methods to enable efficient and rapid screening for pest resistance.
The project is led by Wageningen Plant Research together with:
- Noldus Information Technology
- BASF Vegetable Seeds
- Limagrain Field Crops
- SES van der Have
- Tierra Seed Science Pvt Ltd
- Avanta India
TrackGene is funded by the partners and the Dutch government TopSectors Agri&Food and Horticulture.
