Some phenomena are difficult to study in a lab, for example habits during a family dinner, or children in a classroom. In those cases, you achieve the best results with live and on-site observation, using our compact portable lab.

Designed for traveling
The complete lab weighs less than 10 kg (22 lbs) and is built into a rugged suitcase. Noldus portable labs are specially designed for traveling. Carry it as hand luggage on an airplane, or put it in the trunk of your car.

High quality components
Our portable lab contains all the equipment you need to make live behavioral recordings in a natural context, including a laptop and two digital cameras. The built in DivX video compression offers you high quality video images and compact files.

As in all Noldus labs, The Observer XT is at the core of the portable lab. It is an excellent tool for observational studies, giving you maximum freedom in coding behavior.

As an addition to the field lab, Noldus also offers a home pack. This home pack enables you to code your recordings back in your office or lab while your colleagues use the field lab for recording. A home pack consists of an event logging keyboard and an extra license of The Observer XT.
