Designed for easy transportation, our portable lab requires very little set-up time, and is ideal for observing people in their natural environment: at home, in shops, in classrooms or in offices. Built to fit in a convenient Carry On Case, the lab comes complete with The Observer^® XT and Media Recorder software to integrate and synchronize all video and data recordings.

On-site behavior recording
Some phenomena are difficult to study in a lab, for example habits during a family dinner, or children in a classroom. In those cases, you can achieve the best results with live and on-site observation, using our compact portable lab.

Designed for traveling
The complete lab weighs less than 11 kg (25 lbs) and is built into a rugged Carry On Case. Noldus portable labs are specially designed for traveling; as carry-on luggage on an airplane, or put it in the trunk of your car.

Once you have arrived at the observation site, you can start working quickly! A Noldus portable lab is set up in under 10 minutes.

High quality components
Our portable lab contains all the equipment you need to make live behavioral recordings in a natural context, including a laptop and two video cameras.

As in all Noldus labs, The Observer XT is at the core of the portable lab. It is an excellent tool for observational studies, giving you maximum freedom in coding behavior. On-site you can record video with Media Recorder. During or after the observation you can code the behaviors with The Observer XT; synchronicity is guaranteed.  

In addition to the portable lab, you can order an extra license of The Observer XT and an event logging keyboard. These additions enable you to code your recordings back in your office or lab while your colleagues use the portable lab for recording.

Modular design
A Noldus portable lab is built on a modular platform. Do you want to use additional equipment like a heart rate monitor or special keyboard? We offer many devices you can add to the lab. Of course you can also add your own tools.

Full support
